Meet Your Doulas

Anything But Death is the passion project of two End of Life Doulas brought together through the heartbreaking loss of Sasha Ivory Wilkerson, Shelley’s sister-in-law and Jessica’s lifelong friend. Sasha’s impact was so profound that it demanded a greater purpose for all who knew and loved her. Shelley and Jessica share a commitment to creating a brave space for authentic conversations about people’s hopes and fears in life and death.

Death Doula Legacy Storytelling

Jessica Strange

Jessica is an INELDA trained End of Life Doula who has worked in the death and dying space for over a decade through case management roles and individual clients.

For her, facilitating intentional conversations about death is a source of inspiration and fulfillment. An officiant for funerals and memorial celebrations, Jessica’s greatest passion is creating life tributes as she believes every life offers a story to be told, a legacy to uphold.

When not swimming in the deep end of life, Jessica is an avid reader, an amateur stand up comic, and a mediocre karaoke singer. Her utter lack of embarrassment in public performance is hardly commensurate with any natural “talent.”

Shelley Tsao

Death Doula Children

Shelley is an INELDA trained End of Life Doula who’s been supporting people and their families at the end of life in various settings for many years. With a background in music therapy and human services, Shelley has shaped her career around creating supportive environments that prioritize holistic well-being and operational excellence.

For her, it’s an honor and privilege to support a person at the end of life and assist their families and friends throughout the journey. Her greatest fulfillment comes from leading initiatives that enhance collaboration and foster continuous improvement, ensuring that both people and organizations thrive during times of change.

When she’s not chasing her two kids and the chickens she didn’t ask for, Shelley enjoys playing her cello, reading, and fostering a strong community where she lives in Idaho.
